ZLSPEC

A high resolution spectrogaph ZLSPEC is under development to complement the low resolution CCDSPEC.

The ZLSPEC has a spectral range 350-850nm with a maximum resolution of 0.12nm (50km/sec) which allows velocities to be determined to ~10km/sec for bright objects.

Global Warming Experiment

A laboratory experiment with a model Earth and atmosphere is being developed which allow students to measure the temperature of the Earth with various gases as the Earth's atmosphere. Suitable for school and Univesrity students as the experimnet can be done at several levels of complexity.

Fraunhofer Diffraction Experiment

Elliott Instruments has provided a new USB colour camera and image capture and analysis system for Fraunhofer Diffraction experiments with single and multi-slts at the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Birmingham, UK.

A commercial version of this system using multi-wavelength LED light sources is under development.
